Post Office Capture financial redress data as of 31 March 2026

The Capture Redress Scheme has been open for applications since 29 October 2025. The scheme is open to postmasters who experienced a financial shortfall as a result of using the Capture software.
As of 31 March 2026, over £3,200,000 has been paid to claimants. This includes any payment that contributes to redress, meaning preliminary payments, interim payments and full payments.
1. Scheme progress
1.1 Eligibility
As of 31 March 2026, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has received 202 complete applications. A complete application means that DBT has received sufficient information to progress the claim onto the next stage of the scheme. This includes undertaking ID checks, requesting disclosure from Post Office Ltd and then assessing the application to determine whether the applicant is eligible for redress.
Of the 202 complete claims, there are:
- 134 claims undergoing eligibility assessment
- 67 claims that have been deemed eligible
- 1 claim that has been deemed ineligible

On confirmation of eligibility, the claimant is entitled to a preliminary payment of £10,000.
1.2 Eligible claims data for Capture Redress Scheme
After confirmation of eligibility, these claims are then assessed by an independent panel before receiving their full offer of financial redress.
Of the 67 eligible claims:
- 22 are awaiting their offer
- 11 are considering their offer
- 10 have settled and are awaiting payment
- 24 have been paid
