1. Scheme Progress
1.1 Eligibility
As of 26 June 2026, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has received 262 complete applications. A complete application means that DBT has received sufficient information to progress the claim onto the next stage of the Scheme. This includes undertaking ID checks, requesting disclosure from Post Office Ltd and then assessing the application to determine whether the applicant is eligible for redress.
Of the 262 complete claims, there are:
- 149 claims undergoing eligibility assessment
- 101 claims that have been deemed eligible
- 12 claims that have been deemed ineligible

On confirmation of eligibility, the claimant is entitled to a preliminary payment of £10,000.
1.2 Eligible Claims Data for Capture Redress Scheme
After confirmation of eligibility, these claims are then assessed by an independent panel before receiving their full offer of financial redress.
Of the 101 eligible claims:
- 17 are awaiting their offer
- 9 are considering their offer
- 75 have settled
Note that we no longer present the breakdown of ‘offers accepted’ and ‘claims paid’, instead providing the number of ‘claims settled’. This will allow us to provide a more complete record of claim and claimant progress in future reports. In the current report, ‘settled’ data reflects claimants who have accepted their final offer through the scheme.
