We were asked:

1) How many mobile phones including smartphones, laptop computers and USB memory sticks have been issued to a) ministers and b) special advisers in the Wales Office since 12 May 2010?

2) How many mobile phones including smartphones, laptop computers and USB memory sticks issued to a) ministers and b) special advisers in the Wales Office have been reported as i) broken; ii) lost; iii) stolen since 12 May 2010?

3) Details of all incidents referred to in answer to question 2.

4) What was the total cost to the public purse of all repairs made and replacements issued to a) ministers and b) special advisers in the Wales Office, in respect of mobile phones including smartphones, laptop computers and USB memory sticks reported as broken, lost or stolen?

During the period you specified, a mobile phone has been issued to each Wales Office Minister, and a smartphone to the Special Adviser; and there have been no incidents of data losses, or lost data-holding assets (such as smartphones and laptops).

As background, PCs used in the Wales Office are not enabled to allow USB memory sticks to be used.
