Please provide details of pass rates by age and gender for practical car tests taken in Glasgow since the 2004/05 financial year.

Please find attached Annexes A to F containing statistics on the pass rates for test centres Glasgow (Anniesland), Glasgow (Baillieston),Glasgow (Shieldhall), Glasgow (Mosspark) (now closed), Glasgow (Shettleston) (now closed) and Glasgow (Springburn Park) split by age and gender.

Please note that for each test centre, where appropriate, the information has been split by financial year.

You will notice in some of the annexes information has been amalgamated. This is due to the low number of candidates at certain ages taking a test. The low numbers of candidates could allow identification of these individuals and as such, that information would become personal data as defined by the Data Protection Act. It would not be fair to release this information so it is exempt from release in its raw form under section 40 (2) (personal data) of the FOIA. A copy of this exemption is attached at Annex G. We have however, combined these results to allow the combined pass rate to be released.

You enquired as to whether it would be possible to use this information. Information published on our website is governed by the Open Government Licence (OGL), and this enables you to re-use data including commercial publication. Full details of how to use this licence can be found at: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/information-management/government-licensing/guidance-for-users.htm and a copy of the licence is available at: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/2/.
