This guidance explains how the EU AI Act applies in Northern Ireland in a specific and limited way under the Windsor Framework from 10 November 2026.

It helps developers, deployers, manufacturers, importers and distributors:

  • check whether their products are in scope
  • understand their responsibilities across the supply chain
  • prepare for requirements on prohibited, high-risk and limited-risk AI systems, including when each requirement applies
