Details

This guidance provides information to assist debt advisers when working with clients who may wish to apply for bankruptcy from 6 April 2016 using the new online bankruptcy application.

Under the new process, people will no longer have to go to the courts. Instead, they will be able to complete their online bankruptcy application in their own time and from any location they choose.

The power to issue bankruptcy orders will pass to the Insolvency Service adjudicator.
