This is our first periodic report assessing the arrangements established by the UK Internal Market Act 2020 (the Act). The report fulfils our statutory reporting requirement under s.33(6) of the Act. The report assesses the effectiveness of provisions in parts 1 to 3 of the Act, the impact of the operation of those provisions on the UK internal market, the interaction of those provisions with Common Framework agreements and the impact of Common Framework agreements on the operation and development of the UK internal market. The report includes research findings on the effectiveness of the Market Access Principles and assessment of developments in relation to Common Framework agreements.
