Number of staff on temporary promotion from 23 June 2010

We were asked for the number of civil servants in the main department (excluding agencies) on temporary promotion on 23 June 2010 (or nearest possible end-of-month date); and

The number of civil servants in the main department (excluding agencies) on temporary promotion on the most recent possible date.

The term ‘temporary promotion’ was replaced with ‘temporary responsibility allowance’ when the Ministry of Justice moved to a new pay deal in 2007. In terms of the information you requested:

  • on 30 June 2010, 6 staff were in receipt of this allowance for covering duties at a higher grade and
  • on 30 November 2011, 5 staff were in receipt of this allowance.
