  1. The Yorkshire & Humber region has supported asylum seekers in large numbers since the policy was introduced to disperse supported asylum seekers away from London and the South East. This policy was introduced with the cooperation of Rotherham local authority.Rotherham is not the only authority in Yorkshire and Humberside that participates in asylum dispersal.
  2. The policy of dispersal started in 2000.
  3. Please see table 1 for the number of asylum seekers in receipt of Section 95 support in Rotherham from 2003 to June 2013.
