Details

In 2021, a new domestic railway technical standards regime replaced the EU’s Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs) while preserving their technical content.

These National Technical Specification Notices (NTSNs) have been published by the Secretary of State for Transport pursuant to regulation 3B of the Railways Interoperability Regulations 2011 and have effect from 1 January 2021.

In May 2025, the Secretary of State made updates to 7 NTSNs. They are applicable in Great Britain only.
