This advice and guidance is intended for use by researchers and developers who want to release plants into the environment under a ‘qualifying higher plant’ (QHP) notification.

This guidance explains how to:

  • meet preparation, storage and handling requirements
  • prevent the unintentional release of a genetically modified organism
  • prevent material from being marketed
  • follow field trial best practice
