This order was made under the market investigations provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002. The order (in its amended form) requires all but the smallest banks in Northern Ireland to:

  • warn customers before deducting overdraft charges and debit interest
  • provide switching information
  • submit compliance reports to the CMA
