These statements describe the methods used to determine Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZs) for the period 2017 to 2020.

Details
Method statements setting out processes used to identify waters polluted by nitrate from agriculture. These were used to review NVZs and determine the Zones that will apply from 2017 to 2020.
The methods are applied independently. Areas are designated as Nitrate Vulnerable Zone if applying any of the processes suggests they should be. Land can be designated as surface water, groundwater or eutrophic NVZ and land may be in more than one type.
