Details

The research project looked at 3 groups of headteachers who:

  • participated in an accelerated leadership development programme
  • achieved headship before 35 years old (primary) or 40 years old (secondary)
  • pursued another career before working in schools and achieving headship

The research looks into each group and:

  • analyses their demography and size
  • considers their route to becoming a headteacher
  • explores their school leadership practices
