These are the annual assessment topics for 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, and examples of the types of questions you’ll be asked when you take the MOT tester annual assessment.

The topics you need to study depend on whether you test cars and passenger vehicles (classes 3, 4, 5 and 7) or motorcycles (class 1 and 2).

If you want to test cars and motorcycles you need to study all the topics.
