Details

This survey is carried out through the year and involves the re-examination of recently tested vehicles at 1,800 randomly selected vehicle testing stations (VTS).

A VOSA vehicle examiner uses the MOT facilities at the site where the vehicle was tested to check test standards and results.

The survey data is then used to evaluate the baseline level of motor service industry compliance with existing MOT test standards.

The survey also allows a picture of the general health of the MOT scheme to be developed over several years allowing trends to be established.
