This report sets out a plan of action for how the government will achieve its vision of a dynamic childcare market for early education.
More great childcare is vital to ensuring we can compete in the global race, by helping parents back to work and readying children for school and, eventually, employment. And it can help build a stronger society, with more opportunities for women who want to work and raise children at the same time, and better life chances for children whatever their background.
The plans in this document are the first step to encourage all providers to learn from the best, and learn from effective practice in other countries. They set out our proposals to build a stronger and more professional early years workforce, and to drive quality through everything it does.
