Details

The TSRB was asked on 15 January 1975 by the Prime Minister to review and recommend changes in the emoluments, allowances and expenses of Ministers of the Crown and Members of the House of Commons including Mr. Speaker and other holders of remunerated offices in both Houses of Parliament together with the relevant pension arrangements; and in the rates and conditions of payment of the Peers’ expenses allowance.

This Report sets out Part I of the TSRB’s analysis and recommendations - covering the salary of MPs, the ‘Parliamentary salary’ of Ministers and paid office holders in both Houses of Parliament, and the main allowances and facilities.

The Government’s response is here: Members (Pay And Allowances) - Hansard

A separate future Report will address the salaries of Ministers and paid office holders in both Houses of Parliament, the pension arrangements for MPs, Ministers and paid office holders, and the Peers’ expenses allowance.
