Details

The purpose of this MoU is to provide the high-level framework for how the activities of the EA and NDA with respect to the decommissioning and clean-up of designated sites, installations and facilities will be coordinated to achieve common interests. Consistent with their respective statutory obligations, duties and functions, the EA and NDA undertake to facilitate safe, sustainable, timely, decommissioning and clean-up, in accordance with relevant policy, legislation and regulatory requirements and in support of delivery of NDA strategies and the EA’s corporate strategy. This will in turn support delivery of a range of relevant government policies and strategies, including commitments for sustainability and delivery of the 25 year plan for the environment. Such coordination should improve the effectiveness and efficiency with which public sector resources are deployed and avoid the difficulties which might otherwise arise.
