Melbourne Holdings Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 4/30/11/*S/0015 which authorises the abstraction of surface water from the River Slea between National Grid References (NGRs) TF 0885 4820 and TF 0910 4895, the Old River Slea between NGRs TF 0960 4820 and TF 0980 4835 and the Division Dyke between NGRs TF 0745 4965 and TF 0875 4925 at Sleaford, Lincolnshire.

The variation applied for is to add an additional point of abstraction on the River Slea at National Grid Reference TF 13630 49640 at the rates of 909 cubic metres per day and 25,000 cubic metres per year. The water shall be abstracted between May and September inclusive and used for spray irrigation.

The proposed quantities will be aggregated with the existing licence quantities so that no additional water is authorised to be abstracted under this variation.
