Meetings with Head of Internal Audit

We were asked:

1.How many times has the Secretary of State met with the departmental head of internal audit (or equivalent) over the last year (April 1st 2012 – March 31st 2013)?

We replied:

A:The Wales Office is a small department and does not have an internal audit department. We use the audit services of a larger government department – the Ministry of Justice. The Secretary of State has not met with their head of internal audit.

We were asked:

2.How many times has the Permanent Secretary met with the departmental head of internal audit (or equivalent) over the last year (April 1st 2012 – March 31st 2013)?

We replied:

A:As a small department the Wales Office does not have a Permanent Secretary, it is headed by a Director. The Director met the head of internal audit for the Ministry of Justice once in March 2013. In addition to this meeting, the head of internal audit for Ministry of Justice attended the Wales Office Audit and Risk Assurance Committee twice between April 2012 and March 2013.
