These maps show the Investment Zone tax sites within the North East of Scotland Investment Zone. These sites are designated and recognised in law as geographical areas where businesses can benefit from tax reliefs to bring investment, trade and jobs.
The tax sites for the North East of Scotland Investment Zone have been designated with effect from 26 February 2026.
Tax site locations
The 3 tax sites within the North East of Scotland Investment Zone are:
- Aberdeen Energy Transition Zone
- Peterhead Port
- Peterhead Upperton
Aberdeen Energy Transition Zone
The Aberdeen Energy Transition Zone tax site is located along the southeastern approach to Aberdeen City within the existing East Tullos and Altens industrial estates, by the Port of Aberdeen South Harbour.
It’s connected to the major road network including both the A90 (south) and A96 (north) trunk roads. These both link from the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR bypass) and its associated A956 ‘fast link’ connection to Cove and Wellington Road and the Aberdeen Energy Transition Zone.
Peterhead Port
Peterhead Port is situated at Peterhead Bay, on the eastern side of Peterhead. It runs parallel to Charlotte Street and Merchants Quay with access provided from the A90 trunk road.
Peterhead Upperton
Peterhead Upperton is located on the southern edge of Peterhead, positioned on the western side of the A90 trunk road as you approach the town from the south. It occupies a prominent roadside location, forming part of the immediate approach into Peterhead and is accessible from the A90 trunk road.
