Letter from Professor Matthew Cooke, National Clinical Director for Urgent and Emergency Care, seeks to clarify existing policy on the need for public and voluntary services workers, such as fire and rescue and prison services, who may be exposed to the blood of others in the course of their professional duties, to receive assessment, and treatment from NHS Accident and Emergency departments.
