Details

The Conveyance and Afflux Estimation System (CESAES) is a software tool for estimating levels of flood and drainage water in channels. It was originally developed between 2001 and 2006.

This project was designed to make sure the software was still relevant and up to date in terms of scientific expertise and technical developments. It was also designed to recommend improvements that might need to be made.

The study drew on:

  • stakeholder consultations
  • user feedback from training courses and the website
  • detailed software testing
  • a series of test activities
  • how software is used on other projects to make recommendations for improvements

They included improvements to the science as well as to the software itself to make it more usable.

This project started in 2007 and was completed in 2009.
