LKAB Minerals Limited: applications made to abstract water

LKAB Minerals Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for two licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The first application is for a full licence to abstract water from underground Limestone strata at Dimmocks Cote Quarry, Wicken, Cambridgeshire at National Grid Reference (NGR) TL 54293 72475.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

100 cubic metres an hour

400 cubic metres a day

24,460 cubic metres a year
-
between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
Abstraction will occur throughout the year for dust suppression and wheel washing purposes.
The second application is for a new transfer licence to abstract water from underground Limestone strata at Dimmocks Cote Quarry, Wicken, Cambridgeshire, at NGR TL 54293 72475, and to transfer it to Kingfishers Bridge Nature Reserve through a pipeline at NGR TL 54288 72518 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

2,400 cubic metres a day

152,000 cubic metres a year
Abstraction will occur throughout the year for dewatering purposes.
