The letter from the Home Secretary, Rt Hon Priti Patel MP, responds to advice provided by the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs on 7 April.

The Advisory Council made recommendations on three proposed measures intended to enable the supply of medicines containing controlled substances.

The measures aim to ensure patients have continued access to medicines, build resilience and help relieve pressure elsewhere in the health system caused by coronavirus (COVID-19).
