Letter to registered providers - 21 January 2026
Published 22 January 2026
Applies to England
I am writing to set out RSH’s annual fees for 2026/27.
We are committed to being transparent and accountable in how we use our funding. Our corporate plan sets out our priorities and how we plan to use the resources available to us. We then report on how that funding has been used in our Annual Report and Accounts.
We work with the Fees and Resources Advisory Panel, which brings together representatives from across the sector to inform our approach to fee-charging and how we use fee income.
The fees for 2026/27 are as follows:
| Provider type | Fee | Invoice month |
|---|---|---|
| Large Private Registered Providers | £9.98 per unit | March |
| Large Local Authority Registered Providers | £7.93 per unit | March |
| Small Private Registered Providers | £710 fixed | May |
Invoices will be issued between March and May as per the schedule above.
Any underspend or overspend against fees charged will be addressed through adjustments in future years once the Annual Report and Accounts have been audited. This may result in either a rebate or an additional charge.
Large Registered Providers will receive a rebate for unspent 2024/25 fees, which will be itemised on their 2026/27 invoice. Small registered providers that pay a fixed fee will not receive a rebate as the costs of their regulation do not vary materially.
Yours faithfully,
Jonathan Walters
Deputy Chief Executive
