Our later document, Defra Funding for Lead Local Flood Authorities in England for 2015-16, contains updated information which covers the period up to the financial year 2015 to 2016.

This document explains how Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFAs) are funded to carry out their new duties under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

It shows that, since April 2013, the funding is provided through a Local Services Support Grant (LSSG), and through their settlement funding assessment. This funding is not ring fenced and local authorities are free to decide how much to spend in the light of other local priorities.

Table 1 in the document shows the LSSG allocations to each LLFA for 2014 to 2015.
