When and who made the decision to reduce the late retirement enhancement rate and when and by what means was this communicated to the Local Government Pension Schemes. When was the new late retirement guidance issued.

Disclosure

The Department for Communities and Local Government has released information about the notification of the changes to the scheme together with copies of the covering letter from this department to Local Government Pension Scheme pension managers together with the Government Actuary’s Department Guidance on late retirement.

The department also enclosed a copy of the HM Treasury Guidance on discounted public service pension schemes. All personal data has been redacted as stated in the response.
