L Pilkington and R Pilkington T/A Breckles Grange Farming Company has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from an unnamed drain at Breckles Gate, Great Hockham, Norfolk. Water is proposed to be abstracted along a 600m abstraction reach between National Grid References TL 94160 93997 and TL 94751 93961 during the winter for storage for subsequent spray irrigation.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 25 cubic metres an hour
  • 588 cubic metres a day
  • 89,023 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.
