Details of the application
Knight Farming Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Rodding at National Grid Reference TL 59243 17310.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

61 cubic metres an hour (winter)

120 cubic metres an hour (summer)

1,461 cubic metres a day (winter)

2,880 cubic metres a day (summer)

50,000 cubic metres a year (total)

between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for storage into a reservoir during the winter months for subsequent spray irrigation and spray irrigation (direct) during the summer.
