JMA Farms Limited: application made to abstract water

JMA Farms Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Sike Stell stream between National Grid References SE 38478 83836 and SE 38708 83745 at Brettaines Farmhouse, Tanfield Lane, Wath, Ripon, North Yorkshire.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 60 cubic metres an hour

  • 850 cubic metres a day

  • 18,000 cubic metres a year

  • between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for Spray Irrigation.

Further details are: the proposed abstraction lies within the Swale and Ure Internal Drainage Board.
