J W Goddard and Sons has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the St Thomas Innings Drain at National Grid Reference TR 01287 25363.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 68 cubic metres an hour

  • 4,632 cubic metres a day

  • 50,000 cubic metres a year

  • between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation.

Further details are: this is to replace a licence which lapsed in 2024.
