J N Bentley Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from the superficial groundwater deposits at National Grid References (NGRs) SK 52706 21922, SK 52738 21946, SK 53031 21503 and SK 52994 21511 and to transfer it to a tributary of the River Soar at NGRs SK 52723 21935 and SK 53061 21849 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 20 cubic metres an hour

  • 490 cubic metres a day

  • 3,920 cubic metres a year

  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
