J. Murphy & Sons Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The applications are for licences to abstract water from River Terrace Deposits at Uxbridge Moor Substation, National Grid References (NGRs) TQ 04076 84203, TQ 04093 84084 and TQ 04104 84009 to transfer it to the River Alder Bourne at National Grid Reference TQ 04234 83972 and to infiltrate back to ground at NGRs TQ 04065 84234 and TQ 04149 84234 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 100 cubic metres an hour
- 2,000 cubic metres a day
- 120,000 cubic metres a year.
The transfer is for dewatering to allow for construction. An environmental permit for the discharge of the abstracted water has also been applied for (application reference EPR/EP3127LN/A001).
