J. Murphy & Sons Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from alluvium from points at Waltham Cross National Grid Substation at National Grid Reference TL 37379 03765 to transfer it to the River Lea and River Lea Flood Relief Channel at National Grid References TL 37379 03765 and TL 37783 03653 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

Abstraction will take place over a 5-year period until December 2030, for the purpose of construction dewatering. All water abstracted will be returned to the River Lea.
