IT Reuse for Good charter: express your interest
Published 25 June 2025
You can express your interest to sign the IT Reuse for Good charter.
All organisations, including public, private, or third sector organisations are welcome to sign the charter. Your organisation does not need to:
- be a certain size to be eligible
- have a device donation scheme already in place
If your organisation already has a successful device reuse and donation scheme and can fulfil the key requirements of the charter, there is no need to alter your existing scheme. Complete the expression of interest form to sign up and be one of the first 100!
To become a signatory of the charter, you will need to:
- provide information on how you intend to donate high quality devices
- provide data on the social and environmental benefits of your device donation schemes
- deliver a device donation scheme within 6 months of signing the charter - there is no limitation on the number of devices you can donate.
How DSIT will support
The Digital Inclusion and Skills Unit can guide you on what you need to meet the requirements for the charter and provide resources to support your organisation, wherever you are on your device donation journey.
We will publicly share the successes of the charter, but individual organisation data will not be shared externally without your permission. There is no requirement to report your progress publicly, however we encourage you to share the positive work of your organisation to help close the digital divide and promote a more circular approach to using devices.
What you need to complete the expression of interest
All expressions of interest must include:
-
the name of your organisation
-
your name
-
the name of your senior responsible officer
-
a declaration of your experience with device donation
-
how you would like to help the work of the charter
-
how DSIT can help you with device donation
-
any additional evidence of experience with device donation
We will use this information to identify organisations that are ready to become signatories to the charter.

What happens next?
If your expression of interest is successful and you become a signatory of the charter, you agree to report your progress to DSIT and complete a short survey (every 6 months) to give us insight into the number of devices:
-
allocated for potential reuse
-
refurbished for reuse
-
recycled
We’ll also want to know about the number of recipients and/or organisations that directly benefit from the refurbished devices.
