8 May 2017 for approximately 6 weeks.
What’s happening
Works to remove and replace the existing footbridge at Islip are planned to take place.
There will be 2 days when navigation will not be possible, but not for the entire period of these days. This is to allow the safe removal of the existing footbridge and the lifting in of the new footbridge. We will advise these dates when confirmed via a Closure Notice.
The river will remain navigable for most of the time and therefore we ask boaters to pass by the construction area carefully at all times.
The new footbridge will provide boaters with 3 metres headroom above normal water level.
