This report summarises the results of a research study for the Greater London Authority, working with the Department for Education. It was commissioned in April 2012 to examine the improvement needs and practices of primary and secondary schools in London.

The research investigates the full range of school improvement practices and the gaps or challenges in accessing these, specific to London schools. It identifies the main sources of school improvement support and motivation, quantifying the importance of the sources identified.
