Intellectual property (IP) is a powerful enabler of innovation and creativity across the UK economy and boosts economic growth.
This corporate plan sets out what we plan to deliver and focus on in the third and final year of this strategy.
These are the main areas and activities that we will be concentrating on over the year ahead:
- progress the One IPO Transformation programme, embedding and enhancing the One IPO patents service, beginning trade marks transformation, and decommissioning legacy systems while continuing to provide excellent customer service
- strengthen the UK IP framework, continuing to work towards the government’s chosen actions regarding AI and copyright, progressing reforms on SEPs and designs, and tackling IP crime through stronger enforcement and improved collaboration
- support small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) use IP for growth, improving access to IP skills, advice and finance so they start, scale and stay in the UK
- build a consistently high‑performing organisation, strengthening leadership and workforce capability, delivering the strategic workforce plan, and embedding a culture of accountability, adaptability and connection
- modernise our corporate systems and adopt AI to further improve operational efficiency and customer experience
