Initial teacher training (ITT): providers annual return guidance
Annual accounts and audit grant return form guidance for initial teacher training (ITT) providers.
All initial teacher training (ITT) providers must submit independently-audited audit grant returns to the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL). This is set out in the financial memorandum/grant funding agreement.
The guidance and form published are for reference purposes only.
Submission of annual returns
You’ll be sent, by email, your annual return form pre-populated with your funding details by the end of July. Use this form to submit your completed audited annual return by 31 December 2016 to email@example.com
Please submit your completed audited annual return in both the following formats:
- Excel format, so that we can automatically upload the imported
- PDF format, so we can authenticate the signatures.
A responsible officer, known as the accounting officer, must be appointed. They should submit the completed and signed audit grant return to the auditors. For tracking purposes, you must record the date you send it to the auditors.
It is your responsibility to ensure the submission deadline is met. The final version must be signed by both your accounting officer and your auditor. You can’t make amendments to the signed-off report, except in exceptional circumstances.
