Application for Authorised Economic Operator status

For all forms you will need your Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI) number that starts with GB.

To complete this form you will also need the following information.

2.1 Compliance record, convictions and customs authorisations

Details of breaches of customs and taxation rules that have been detected by yourself, customs or fiscal authorities, within the business in the last 3 years and how you notified those breaches to the relevant governmental authorities. Examples of breaches of customs rules should include the dates, nature of breach and details of how the relevant authority was notified.

If there are several, provide a total number and a brief summary of the main reasons for the errors.

Your quality assurance measures should include:

  • the appointment of a responsible contact person within your business to disclose irregularities or errors, including suspicion of criminal activity, to Customs or other government departments
  • requirements, including frequency, for checks to be performed and evidenced on the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the recording and maintenance of records
  • use of internal audit resources to test or gain assurance of your procedures
  • how staff are notified of requirements and changes
  • the frequency of future reviews
  • management checks to make sure procedures are followed

  • when it was committed
  • what the sentence in court was

Details about any other applications for customs authorisation, including if:

  • you plan to apply in the future
  • you’ve already applied
  • any applications for authorisations or certifications have been refused, or existing authorisations have been suspended or revoked and if so, why

The refusal, suspension or withdrawal of any application or authorisation for a customs decision will not always result in the rejection of your Authorised Economic Operator status application.
