Indurent Strategic Land Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number MD/028/0036/019 to abstract water from superficial deposits in the underground strata at Hemington, Leicestershire in the three areas bounded by National Grid References (NGRs) SK 45174 29400, SK 45375 29370, SK 45229 29172 and SK 45046 29172; SK 45036 29110, SK 45242 29154, SK 45250 28675; and SK 44891 28675; SK 45084 29410, SK 46284 29400, SK46027 28666; and SK 44867 28666; for the purpose of transferring it to Castle Donington Brook at Hemington, Leicestershire, between NGRs SK 45330 29376 and SK 45235 28847 without intervening use.

The variation applied for is to extend the authorised abstraction area to encompass the entire site boundary and an increase in abstraction rate from 30 litres per second to 32 litres per second.

Further details are: this proposed water transfer activity is associated with the construction of two flood compensation areas at Hemington, Leicestershire.
