Announcement of intention not to prepare an environmental statement (Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage Improvement Works) Regulations 1999 as amended by SI 2005/1399 and SI 2006/618.

The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences on the River Rother in Slittingmill between Staveley Lane (NGR SK4392576717) and Hawthorn Hill (NGR SK4355476698), a distance of 0.4 kilometres. The proposed improvement works will involve the following:

  • repair sections of the existing flood defence which has suffered damage from vehicle access
  • add stone on the access track and outlet structures to avoid future damage

The works will take approximately 2 weeks and be carried out between the months of April 2015 and October 2015.

The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them.
