One of the events organised to promote Britain’s presidency of the G8 Summit was a G8 Social Impact Investment Forum held on 6 June 2013

Work and Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan Smith, together with Prime Minister, David Cameron spoke at the forum.

Iain Duncan Smith introduced a panel session about how social investment could promote economic growth and help tackle social problems more cost effectively.

Factsheet on the Innovation Fund

The Innovation Fund was set up in 2012 and is a pilot project aimed at testing social investment. It is set to run until 2015. Under this, a range of investors, many of whom are private, are paid by results through Social Impact Bonds.
