Details

A joint letter from Liz Kendall, Secretary of State for the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and Peter Kyle, Secretary of State for the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and relevant departmental Secretaries of State.

We have written to 19 regulators asking each of them to publish a plan for how they will support safe AI innovation. They must also report on their progress every year.

These regulators work in sectors where AI has the most potential, such as life sciences, financial services and law. They have an important role to play in helping organisations adopt AI safely.

We will also continue to include safe AI adoption in our guidance to regulators.
