The department received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) for the following:

1. What is the Home Office’s current target for issuing refugee status letters to individuals whose appeals against refusal of asylum have been allowed by an immigration adjudicator, and where the respondent has not sought leave to appeal or leave to appeal has been refused?

2. What was the target for issuing status letters in such cases in May 2003?
