Holcim UK Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to renew and vary licence serial number SW/047/0002/021 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata comprising of Dartmoor Granite at National Grid Reference SX 57177 62313 near Lee Moor Quarry, Lee Moor, Devon for the purpose of mineral washing.

The variation applied for is to increase the authorised daily abstraction quantity from 1,531 cubic metres per day to 2,040 cubic metres per day and the annual abstraction quantity from 398,019 cubic metres per year to 530,400 cubic metres per year.
