Details

The Strategic Design Panel was set up to challenge and support Highways England to make a step change in the design quality of England’s Strategic Road Network. This coincides with the delivery of the biggest programme of Government investment in a generation.

As previously recommended by the Strategic Design Panel, Highways England published its design vision and principles in The road to good design earlier this year and also established a design review panel to provide scheme specific advice.

Strategic Design Panel members come from a range of disciplines and represent 14 institutions and relevant stakeholders who have a passionate interest in the design of the Strategic Road Network.
