High Speed Two (HS2) Limited: application made to abstract water

High Speed Two (HS2) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The first application (NPS/WR/046757) is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Trent at National Grid References (NGRs) SJ 98328 25388 to SJ 89557 25275 and SJ 99267 24678 to SJ 99459 24200 near Ingestre Manor Farm, Ingestre, Stafford.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 54 cubic metres an hour
- 1,136 cubic metres a day
- 23,181 cubic metres a year
- between 01 May and 31 October inclusive in each year.
The second application (NPS/WR/046755) is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Sow at NGRs SJ 99120 22788 to SJ 98848 22424 near Tixall, Stafford.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 50 cubic metres an hour
- 870 cubic metres a day
- 4,546 cubic metres a year
- between 01 May and 31 October inclusive in each year.
The third application (NPS/WR/046754) is for a full licence to abstract water from the Bourne Brook at NGRs SK 11839 15477 to SK 11670 15222 near Rileyhill, Lichfield.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 25 cubic metres an hour
- 581 cubic metres a day
- 23,276 cubic metres a year
- between 01 May and 31 October inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for direct spray irrigation at all three locations.
